Ackman Glass & Mirror, based in Williams Bay, WI, was founded in 1977 by Dick and Katie Ackman. A third-generation family business, it is now led by their son Rick Ackman II, who has served as president since 1978. With over 40 years of glazing experience, Ackman Glass has become a leading glazing contractor in Southeastern Wisconsin. I was referred to Ackerman Glass by a client from work after mentioning my trials with a very old, heavy sliding door. I was getting ready to invest in a new door but decided to give it one more shot. We had already pulled the door off a couple times and the previous service could not remove the rollers. Ackerman, however, was able to come out within a couple of days, and with very little information from me (date of door, size, type), they pulled the door off and in no time had replaced the rollers that I thought would be almost impossible to find. The door rolls significantly better - I'm impressed. And their fee was also incredibly reasonable. Hopefully, this will buy some time before I really need to replace this. My home is almost 50 years old, and they will be my first call now with any other sliding door and window/glass issue. I highly recommend this company.
